Jasper Newton Stubbs
Mary Elizabeth Freels

Jasper Newton Stubbs was born July 14, 1855 in Texas County, Missouri. He died July 16, 1929 in Platte County, MO. He married Mary Elizabeth Freels October 18, 1873 in Houston, Texas County, Missouri. Mary Elizabeth was born January 29, 1856 in Anderson County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of John A. and Josephine (Oliver) Freels, and niece of Iris Oglesby Kissiah (Oliver) Stubbs wife of Brazela Houston Stubbs. She died August 16, 1946 in Platte County, MO. Both are buried in the Camden Point Missouri Community Cemetery.

After marrying, Jasper and Elizabeth lived in Texas County, Missouri until 1877 when he moved his family to Platte County, Missouri. Mary Elizabeth had uncles and aunts who had lived in Platte County for many years, some since before the Civil War.

Jasper Newton and Mary Elizabeth had 12 children.
